Happy 2010!

This is gonna be a hodge podge of updates.

The last time you heard from me was in 2009, so first things first, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We had fabulous plans for New Year’s Eve, we truly did. All day long I was excited about going over to Abby’s house to hang out with her hubby Brian and our friends Rosa & Mark. You may remember Rosa from this post. She was the one that was crazy nice enough to let me coordinate her wedding. Hoping you’re enjoying the newlywed phase! It does eventually wear off! It lasts forever. <awww>

I get us all packed and ready to go to San Antonio. We’re loading up the car, and I tell Daniel I am going back inside the apartment to grab my purse and lock the door. I do that, and as I am walking away from the door, Daniel asks me if I brought Pee Wee’s blanket.

Um, no. I did not.

I go back inside, grab the blanket, and I attempt to lock the door when this happens:

GAH! It broke right off. BROKE. RIGHT. OFF.

I was so very angry. I then called our maintenance dude and told him what happened. He comes over, says he can’t fix it because the hardware store isn’t open, so we’re essentially screwed.

SCREWED. The rest of the evening I moped, Daniel tried to cheer me up with champagne/thin crust pizza/Baileys, and I tweeted asking who the hell is Justin Beiber and WTF is Fergie wearing? kind of stuff. Clearly we were party animals. I KNOW! I know. And I clearly just probably lost about 3.2 billion potential readers because I do not care who Justin Beiber is. I am not 9.

So.

Yeah. We ended up going to San Antonio on New Year’s Day, which was fun. We hung out, went shopping a bit and generally just lounged around. Saturday, the 2nd, was the Alamo Bowl. Texas Tech won- yay! At least one Texas team won! Not naming names TCU & UT.

Ahem.

Then this past I week I went back to my day job. Won’t say much about that because I don’t want to end up dooced.

Even that was probably saying too much, so take that as you will. I’ll also add that I hope 2010 brings about some change <coughnewjobinsacoughcough>.

Sigh.

What else?

Oh, yeah, that.

Don’t hate me.

Promise?

(Here’s the part where you promise…)

The doctor told me I cannot train with the C25K training right now because I apparently majorly screwed up my knee. Not by running during my 2-week vacation, but like way before that. This month I have been instructed to only do light jogging and power walking and that sorta stuff all inside only (not on hard surfaces outside). Then we’ll revisit the issue in February. This month I am basically focusing on getting my legs in good shape while allowing my knee to heel.

I know so many of you have decided to train with me, so I do apologize that I will be about a month behind ya. Trust me though, I am getting in my activity and I hope to be good as new soon!

Finally, I got back on the Weight Watchers bandwagon this week, and I lost 3 pounds, which is reflected in my ticker on the top right hand side of the blog. I can’t wait until it says “0 pounds to go”.

Coming up soon will be a mini-craft room makeover (AKA- I got my crap organized) and FINALLY working on the master bedroom.

2010 has gotta be a good year. It just has to be. Not that 2009 was awful, I did get married and all that warm and fuzzy stuff, but I am searching for a deeper form of happiness. Not the kind that revolves around material items like wanting a house or a lavish vacation, but the kind of happiness that leaves me ready to take on the day. Leaves me excited to get up in the morning. Leaves me feeling like I am doing something worthwhile.

What do you hope 2010 brings for you?
