Kiyonna Clothing {Review}
I know you all are probably fed up with my BlogHer posts (found here and here), but today I have a quick review featuring a gorgeous dress that Kiyonna was kind enough to send me. And I have pictures of me with celebs, friends and a vampire in said dress.
You know you wanna see.
From the moment the representative from the Kiyonna contacted me, I knew this was a company that cared about their client/demographic (curvy gals who want to look cute). They always reply promptly to tweets/e-mails/Facebook wall posts, which I love. I am the type of girl that needs a quick answer. Another feature I love about their website that I haven’t seen before in other plus-size websites is they show how REAL women look in the dresses (isn’t she a doll- you’re a doll Andrea!):
And then you can look at the smoking hot model:
And you just instantly feel better about yourself. I’ve never been thin- EVER. Yet, I always have to look at thin models, so it’s nice to feel right at home on the Kiyonna website.
I could gush about them forever, but I know you’re here to see the dress on ME. Because in this post, I am the star of the show.
Mostly.
Ta-dah!
What did I love about this dress? Well, it lasted me through 3 parties (2 of which were outdoor). I felt confident. I didn’t have to wear spanx. It had a sparkly brooch. It looked cute with flats. I didn’t have to feel self-conscious which is HUGE for me. Especially at an event like BlogHer where I am relatively unknown and felt super nervous. As I mentioned, I wore the dress to lots of parties. I wore it to the Cheap Sally Party, which I don’t have any pictures of…except for this random dude from Top Chef or something.
Then I wore it to the next party hosted by Softcup and Mario Lopez (who was too VIP to take a picture with us):
Ryan Cabrera performed 5-6 songs. I only knew 1 of them. His hair was fab. He let me pet it. That sounds dirty. I swear I am talking about his hair.
Then I pranced on over and wore it to Sparklecorn where I gave Harry Potter bunny ears:
Got chummy with Edward (don’t ask what I was doing…this was after drinking at 2 parties):
He’s totally over 18, right? Because if not, this might be creepy.
This is meant to be a picture of Hermione and I. FYI I am naming my future daughter Hermione. No really.
And I also eventually had even more drinks at Sparklecorn and ended up shaking my ass on stage with DJ Skribble playing a bunch of music I’d never heard of all while wearing this beautiful, comfortable dress that Kiyonna sponsored for BlogHer 11. Would I buy from them? Definitely! They carry sizes 10+ which means all of curvy girls in all ranges/sizes can feel gorgeous, sexy and confident. Thanks again Kiyonna! It was an outfit that I didn’t have to stress about and I got so many compliments.
FCC Disclosure: I was provided this sexy dress for free by Kiyonna to wear at BlogHer 11 in exchange for writing a review. My encounters with one hit wonders who dated Ashlee Simpson, Mario Lopez/AC Slater and cardboard celebrities/vampires are totally real as are my opinions about this dress and the company. No people were harmed in the making of this review… THAT I KNOW OF. Blog with integrity y’all.
